The German high command very much wanted a self-propelled howitzer that retained the ability to dismount the cannon and use it as towed artillery, as well. Considerable effort over a number of years by a variety of firms went into this objective, however none were considered true successes. Krupp’s attempt to solve this problem involved mounting a 10.5cm light field howitzer on an extensively modified Hummel chassis. The engine and cooling system were moved to the rear of the vehicle, in positions much as they were on the Panzerkampfwagen IV. A new glacis and superstructure was fabricated by Stahlindustrie and installed by Krupp. Specification | Scale | 1:35 | | Model Brief | Length: 195mm Width:85 mm Height: 75mm | | Total Plastic Parts | 674pcs | | Box Size | 41×26×7.8cm | | Metal Parts | metal chain | | Barcode | 9580208003733 | | Resin Parts | n/a | | Qty. / Ctn | 24pcs | | Photo Etched Part | n/a | | MEAS. | 83.5×48.2×54.0cm | | Film Parts | n/a | | Total Sprues | 16 sprues plus one-piece slide-molded lower hul, slide-molded upper hull, slide-molded turret and vinyl tracks | | Decal Marking | With the vehicle being a prototype, so give a small decal sheet consist of four black/white Balkancreuz, to represent the vehicle in field gray | | More Features | n/a |
